Keep On Truckin’

Little bit overdue.  I had hoped to build some more of the set by now, but so far, only built the one.  Got the plans from my Wood Magazine subscription (available here).  I wish I had seen the correction a few months later about the patterns being off size as I found myself fighting with them regularly.  These are quite chunky – the truck cab is one foot long or so.  The trailers are nearly 2 feet.  Quite a lot of little things adding up into nice sized project.

This was the first time I used wood from an online store.  My local woodworking source closed and getting stuff not carried by Home Depot/Lowes is a bit of a challenge.  I have another specialist store further away which I have since gone to visit, but I also decided to give online a shot and ordered from Wood Workers Source.  Prices are good compared to locally, but shipping eats it up.  Also, not being able to pick boards was worrisome.  It came out okay for this project, but I have my doubts for future projects.
