Rippling Ribbon Desktop Clock

One of the few projects I’ve gotten done in recent years.  Fun shape, elicits comments and easily knocked out.  Plans from Wood Magazine and supplies from Schlabaugh & Sons.

Project notes – I changed the base from the circle to a trapezoid, I felt it went with the main body better.  Fun project that you can knock out fairly quickly, though there is wait time.  Press the veneers into shape overnight on Day 1.  Glue them up on Day 2.  Finish up on Day 3.  I knocked out about a dozen of them for friends and family over a few weeks.

Costs – cheap

Flaws – you really need to get a good spread on the glue otherwise the veneer can separate near the edges.
